Imagine, if you will, a world in which Julie Nagel did not go outside to talk to her brother. What if a different brunette went outside instead? At 12:27am.
We've been told *cough* that there is a screen shot of text messages from Ryan Nagel saying "here" and "leaving."
What if those weren't the only texts?
RYAN NAGEL: here (12:23am)
JULIE: don't need a ride after all (12:25)
RYAN NAGEL, annoyed: really?
JULIE: Bri's other friends bailed. Feel bad.
JULIE: Prob just spend the spend the night.
RYAN NAGEL: Cool
RYAN NAGEL: Leaving (12:27am)
From the police reports, it seems that Ryan was mentioned to the Canton PD early on (at the scene) as a potential neutral 3rd party eyewitness. But in his initial statement to Yuriy and Michael Proctor on February 7, 2022, he tells us some things that turn out to be patently false - he says he saw Karen initially to the left of the house if you're looking at it from the road, and then further up by the flagpole with her brake light on as they were leaving. Nope.
He DOES say that Julie came outside, but that she told him she was planning to stay and spend the night at Fairview - nothing about Jen and Matt McMabe driving them home. He does not mention ANY text with Julie. He simply states that he was parked out front for no more than 5 minutes.
So what are we to believe? I can see it making sense that a text exchange like the one I described above is what happened. Did Heather Maxon and Ricky have to be brought in - to substantiate Ryan's story? Yes. Does that mean they think Karen is innocent or know what happened? No. Their testimony, at times, contradicted one another and contradicted what they'd stated in police interviews.
Ricky went from not remembering their drive there to being on the stand and naming each road they took and which way they turned.
Heather said the F-150 yielded to the SUV when they were still 1-2 minutes away from Fairview and that they could not see the Lexus the entire time. If Ricky let Karen make the turn at the corner of Fairview and Cedarcrest, 34 is about 10 seconds away and just two houses down.
Their testimony is not gospel.

Do you think Brian Albert would just take a CHANCE on Karen choosing to leave without John when Karen didn't come in with him but is still sitting outside for an unknown reason? It's been a couple of minutes (at least) since they arrived. John's blood is on the family room floor. John's now in the basement and seriously injured, in their minds, at best. I don't know how long it took them to figure out that John was not going to be okay.
So once Brian Albert passes Chloe off to Caitlyn, he would have DEMANDED Jen go outside and give her some kind of story to get her to leave. I can think of one that they might have come up with on the fly.
Jen comes up to Karen's passenger side window and points down so Karen will put down the window. Confused, Karen looks at her, "What's up?"
And then Jen does Jen. She's ALSO a talker, just like Kerr Bear:
"Karen honey, I 'm sorry but you have to go home. Apparently, Nicole's brother Brian just found out about you and Higgins today when they came back from NYC. I didn't think it would be a big deal to invite you, but he thinks it's better you don't come in. And John agrees. Brian Albert is really disappointed in all this, because John has basically iced Higgins out lately. And Brian Albert's protective of Brian Higgins. They're really close.
John's in there and really mad in general. He's kinda acting it's ALL your fault and saying he wants to hook up with one of the college girls here for Brian Jr's birthday. Being flirty. But he's just had a few too many. Don't worry, we wouldn't let him do anything like that. John said for you to just head back to Meadows, and he'll get a ride from Chris or from us. You all can work things out in the morning. Call me after you all have a chance to chat with him tomorrow. Brrrrr, it's freezing out here and there's enough snow on the ground to track a cat. K, bye!"
Maybe Karen responded, "So I'm not invited, and he won't just come out and go home with me?"
So, Jen waves as Karen drives away, and then Jen bolts into the house and grabs her phone to call John's number and let Brian Albert know that Karen has driven away.
(In my theory, Brian Albert and Higgins are in the backyard near the bulkhead door entrance, with an injured and dying John and John's phone. Possibly with 2 other men. And the Brian's would know full well NOT to bring their own phones down there with them.
Wouldn't it make sense., though? Karen starts calling John over and over on the ride home and then leaves him angry voicemails starting at 12:37am saying things like -
John, I eff-ing hate you
I'm here with your kids and nobody knows were the f*** you are
You're a f***ing pervert.
I can't babysit your kids.
I need to go home.
You're using me.
You're f***ing another girl.
You're a f***ing loser.
Fuck yoursef.
Her words and anger totally track with Karen being told John didn't want her there, wanted her home with his niece instead, and wanted to hook up with someone else.
