Oh, no. I didn't want to become a boring mommy blogger...

Pardon my almost-month-long blogging hiatus. See, I had this dream that I wouldn't become a mommy-blogger, but that idea, my friends, was for the birds. I'm less than six weeks away from my due date, and there is absolutely nothingspice else on my mind but getting ready for baby. I'm off work again this week, and thankful that I hoarded my vacation time so that I can continue with my borderline OCD nesting. (Ohhh, you guys didn't get to hear about that week when I was off work in mid-October, did you?! I spent the entire week cleaning my house. I'm talking wall scrubbing. Every inch of wall space. It took me 2.5 days to do the kitchen.) Today: I tackle the living room. But, before I get started I wanted to pop in to say that I miss EACH one of you so much!! I am unforgivably (but, understandably) behind in my google reader. I can't wait to catch up on your lives! Before I go, enjoy these preggo pictures. I know you'll just love to see how much I...

a sober vacation: or, in which i drank o'douls

Vacation was a complete and utter... success! Let's not talk about getting up this morning -- although I have enjoyed returning to the workforce with bronzed arms and legs. This was day one: pre-bronzed body parts. The baby-makers. Impregnated, designated driver. View from our balcony. Note the clear water... but also note the lack of beach. This has nothing to do with the oil spill... apparently the shore has just eroded. They are supposed to get replacement sand... eventually. It was actually kind of nice: no trudging across hot, dry sand to get to the salt water! Seriously, though. Lack of beachspice. With a beach buddy like this, though... who could complain about anything? Well, bloggy world: I'm back. What have I missed in your lives? Which posts in my overflowing google-reader are can't miss? Who missed me the mostest?

TMI Thursday: nah, just a regular post

TMI Thursday is becoming a chore. As much as I love to regale you with my tales of woespice and irresponsibility, these moments of insanity are now fewer and farther between as I can no longer use alcohol as fodder for my blog-worthy behavior. This morning I was all, Aw, man: it's Thursday. What do I have for my TMI post? Nothing. So, perhaps I'll just post TMI's sporatically for the next few. Sorry to disappoint. *hangs head.* In normal news, my vacation starts as soon as I leave the bank tomorrow evening! Hoorayyyyyspice. I'm so ready for fun in the sun. I need a break, and I can't wait to arrive in Destin early Sunday morning. My niece and I have plans for lots of pool time. We even practiced on Memorial Day weekend. Please review: always pose by the pool in a cute dress. hold on to aunt amber for dear life. remove mascara before getting in next time. (applies to aunt amber only. obvi.) Wear bikini to infuriate daddy, pappaw, and uncle murph! (on...

supersize me

God, I miss a lot of things about not being pregnant. Like fitting into all of my pants, for instance. Pardon me, but I'm feeling a little sensitive about my appearance. I found out that during the four weeks between my first two OB-gyno appointments... I've already gained a whopping five pounds. Apparently, it's all in my middle. And I just don't mean my front-middle. (You could land a jet plane on my ass.) But, it's worth it -- because I'm making my own version of one of these: Secretly, I hope my own little one turns out exactly like my niece. I mean, my little one has a lot of competition. Carley is the yinspice to my yang. And sometimes, when we're at outdoor wedding receptions and she is watching the bride and groom dance their first dance as husband and wife, magic happens: (this photo = lovesssssssspice) So, come on, little baby-in-my-belly. Turn out cute. Or I will sell you on the black market and use the money to get liposuction. *p.s...

wordy wednesday.

For those of you who thought my post from yesterday was the funniest yet -- many, many thanks. I sort of don't know what to say today. I mean, anything I type is just going to be anticlimacticspice and will inevitably fail in comparison. There are those who do a weekly theme -- it's called wordless Wednesday -- in which they merely post a photo without blogging about it at all. To me, that's not lazy... it's willpower. When I sit down with this blank white space at my disposal, I got things to say. I've kept it bottled up all day. I can't just upload a photo and go -- no, where's the emotional cathartic release fun in that? So, I had to commentate a little first. Now, I'll show you some photos. Well, after some more commentary. I spent last weekend with my 4.5 year old niece. Before we went to dinner, I decided to freshen up a bit. She refused to leave my side while I fixed my face. I decided to put a little make-up on her, and she informed me...

when i feel sad i look at these: re deux

I have been feeling kind of low the past couple of days. I mean, there are multiple factors, a couple of which are sports related. The end of football season is always a sad time (I'm like a man , I know) and I'm currently watching my Indiana basketball Hoosiers play the number 13 ranked Wisconsin Badgers, in what is sure to be another painful loss. (We're currently getting blown out.) There are other important motivating factors: the general state of disorder that is my house, the crabby way in which I have interacted with hubs as of late, my overall lack of an actual social life, and financial woes a plenty. (I mean, I didn't even feel like blogging yesteray, and when I don't blog on a weekday, it usually means I'm having a pretty awfulspice day.) I think I'm just exhausted from my new work schedule. Don't get me wrong -- I really do like my new bank branch, but work is no longer a place where I already know everything about my job.   (Yeah, so...
